ECI constitutes team to discuss poll preparedness in Mizoram

    New Delhi [India], Nov 7 (The Eastern Herald): Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday deputed a team of officers to discuss various issues related to upcoming Mizoram Assembly elections.
    The high-level team constituted by the Election Commission is being led by Deputy Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain. The team will hold discussions with all representatives on November 9 in Aizwal.
    Representatives of all NGO Coordination committee, comprising of central YMA, Mizoram Senior Citizen Association, and Mizo Student Union and Mizoram Church Leaders Committee also submitted a joint resolution to the ECI today.
    The resolutions comes after, ECI officials held a meeting with representatives of NGO Coordination committee, yesterday.
    The ECI also took cognizance of incidents of violence reported from Kolasib on Tuesday and assured that they will put in all efforts to ensure that such incident do not reoccur in the future.
    The voting in the state will take place on November 28 and the results will be declared on December 11. (The Eastern Herald)
