US Elections: Joe Biden wins primary in South Carolina

Joe Biden won the dem primaries for the White House in South Carolina. It is Biden’s first victory in the primaries. According to Edison Research, the former vice president will win at least 14 of the 54 delegates up for grabs. “Thanks, South Carolina! – tweeted Joe Biden – To all those who have been shot down, excluded and left behind, this is your campaign. Together we will win this nomination and beat Donald Trump””.

With 3.14% of the polled seats in the South Carolina primaries, Joe Biden is at 50.8%, almost triple that of Bernie Sanders (18.5%). Billionaire Tom Steyer was third with 11.6%. All other candidates are below 10%: Pete Buttigieg is fourth with 7.6%, Elizabeth Warren fifth with 6.1%.

“From here you launched Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and now me, my campaign has taken off,” said Joe Biden in front of his fans in Columbia after his victory in South Carolina. “Media and analysts were stating my candidacy, but today he won the heart of the Democratic party and won big,” he added. Then he recalled that now is the time to choose which way the party should go, placing himself as an alternative to Bernie Sanders and boasting Obama’s legacy.
