In the attack on the synagogue in Halle on October 9, 2019, two people were killed for anti-Islamic motives. The kidnapper had shot her at a kebab snack bar after unsuccessfully trying to break into the synagogue. 33 Muslims were reportedly injured in Islamophobic attacks in 2019.

The total number of attacks has remained constant since 2017, it said. “The hatred of Muslims continues to break out in violent attacks, threats, and insults,” said Jelpke.
