AfD head removes state board in Saarland

Berlin – The AfD leadership has deposed the state executive of the party in Saarland under the chairman Josef Dorr with immediate effect. Ten members of the Federal Executive Board voted in a conference call on Tuesday for a corresponding decision. Three members of the top committee abstained. The Saarland state association is initially to be headed by an emergency board made up of the federal board members Carsten Hutter, Joachim Paul and Stephan Protschka.

The reasons given were, among other things, that the Saarland board of directors manipulated the process of membership acceptance by not processing application for admission, deliberately delaying it significantly or by misusing the membership by exercising its right to object. The party executive announced that it would present the regulatory measure to the next federal party convention for review.
