Mainz » Parents of high school graduates in Rhineland-Palatinate who have recently finished school can continue to receive child benefit without any red tape. Notification to the employment agency is not necessary if the next stage of training – vocational training or a degree – begins within four months after the end of school. This was announced by the Mainz employment agency on Monday.
Even if the interruption lasts longer than four months, child benefit can still be paid for young people. This is possible, for example, in the case of longer waiting times for an apprenticeship or study place, if a corresponding application can be proven.
In the event that an application is currently not possible, a written declaration by the child is sufficient to want to apply as soon as possible. The forms provided for this are available online (www.familienkasse.de).
