Berlin (TEH) – A person was injured in a fire on the construction site of the Humboldt Forum in Berlin. The fire department tweeted that the person was being treated by the ambulance service. 80 forces are deployed.
“The cloud of smoke from the fire from building materials and two bitumen stoves was visible from afar.” According to the fire department, the fire is under control. The emergency services quickly extinguished the fire, said a fire department spokesman. “Everything under control.” The in-person is, therefore, a construction worker.
A large, black cloud of smoke could be seen above the building in central Berlin. A cultural and exhibition center is being built in the reconstructed city palace. The explosion occurs outside, said a spokesman for the forum of the German Press Agency. The incident occurred at ten o’clock in a portal to the Schlueterhof.
The Humboldt Forum is one of the most important construction sites in the capital. The first part of the forum is supposed to open in September. The opening was originally planned last year, but then there were delays.
The 40,000 square meter center is occupied by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation with two of its museums, the State of Berlin and the Humboldt University. Exhibits from Asia, Africa, America, and Oceania as well as objects on the history of Berlin are to be shown.
