WIESBADEN – The sun is shining and supermarkets are open for the last Easter shopping – but most of the people on Saturday adhered to the restrictions to contain the corona pandemic. The police headquarters in Rhineland-Palatinate reported “no problems” or major violations until the afternoon. More people are traveling than on Good Friday, it was said from Mainz. But it was “all civilized,” said a police spokesman.

“People apparently accepted that,” said a spokesman for the police headquarters in Trier, referring to the contact and distance regulations. A few people were found too many, it said from Koblenz. But that was kept within limits. The police in Ludwigshafen want to publish a record of possible violations after Easter.

In Saarland, the corona checks started on Saturday afternoon. Until then, reports from citizens about alleged violations had already been received, reported a police spokeswoman in Saarbrucken. Officials would check them out.
