‘Indian Muslims for Progress and Reforms’ (IMPAR) has been formed with the aim of expressing the voice of the Muslim community in the country with solidarity and putting their perspective before society. This committee consists of more than 200 well-known people of Muslim society who will work as a think-tank. According to IMPAR, they will work with intellectuals and thinkers of all communities to connect them with the Ganga-Jamuni tehzib and secular fabric of the country.

This think tank will work to promote the thoughts of progressive and modern Muslims to the country and the media. IMPAR formed by people from different backgrounds including former Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Rehman Khan, former Chief Election Commissioner Dr. SY Qureshi, former ministers Tariq Anwar and Roshan Baig, Islamic Culture Center Chairman Siraj Qureshi, Brigadier Saeed Ahmed, former Special Police Commissioner AA Khan, former ADG Aftab of CRPF Khan, former bureaucrat Anees Ansari, education with PA Inamdar, SW Akhtar, Saeed Naqvi from media world, Qamar Waheed Naqvi, Qamar Aga, Shahid Sid Diki and Seema Mustafa, Saba Naqvi, Sheeba Aslam.
Muslim community in negative news
Recently the Muslim community has been put in negative news. Due to low education and limited access, a section of the Muslim community is not able to respond effectively to new situations and challenges. IMPAR’s plan is to make the Muslim community a partner in nation-building by connecting them to modern education and shared cultural values.
Internal development within the Muslim community is necessary
Most of the Muslim community in India lacks good education and hence for them very few social and economic opportunities are available. IMPAR believes that intra-community changes are needed for a positive change. At the same time, scientific and logical thinking has to be promoted among youngsters by providing better social and economic environment.
Trying to ‘sound right on the right platform’
In the last few days, it has been seen that the Muslim community has been poorly represented in the media. Muslims are being represented by self-styled clerics or people with incomplete information .
This did not address the real issues of the community and led to a misconception of the whole Muslim society. IMPAR will try to represent the Muslim perspective in media with concrete and effective discussions with its panel of well-known people.
In the current situation of lockdown, our goal is to fight the corona virus by connecting with our community of health workers, people of law and order and other agencies.

IMPAR intends to align its different working groups with NGOs and other institutions working in their respective region to meet the food and economic needs of the people.

‘Indian Muslims for Progress and Reforms’ (IMPAR) is supported by more than 200 well-known Muslim communities working in different fields. This forum includes people from politics, bureaucracy, corporate world, education world, economy, science, business, journalism, policy-making, arts and culture.
No Ahmadiyya Muslim is included in the forum
The idea of think Muslim think tank is not worth until it includes all the school of thoughts or sects within the Islamic society. The Ahmadiyya Muslims who claim to be following the true Islamic teachings are kept away from IMPAR. The Ahmadiyya Muslims are considered a heretic to Islam by other Muslim sects. Whereas the literacy rate of Ahmadiyya Muslims in the country is more than 90 percent. Leaving Ahmadi Muslims aside reflects the image of this, Not a ‘Liberal and Progressive’ forum.
Indian Muslims for India First (IMIF) also reflects the same attitude towards the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the country.
The main objective of the forum
The main objective of this forum will be to act as a think tank and actively performs in the domains of research, policy, dialogue, discussion at the national level, and talks on political issues and policies. From all our outputs, the government could work together with the media and the rest of the think tank.

This forum will collect social, economic, and educational data of Muslims through research which directly and indirectly has an impact on the community.
The forum also aims to bring the issues of Muslims into the mainstream by interacting with ministries, state governments, media, political parties, and social-intellectual organizations, etc.
