A successful launch of the CZ-11 rocket took place in China, which launched two satellites into the Earth’s orbit, The Eastern Herald reports. The launch was carried out from the Xichang cosmodrome, located in the north-west of China – this was the first launch of such a rocket from this site.


The CZ-11 missiles, or The Great Campaign 11, are distinguished by the use of solid fuels. It can be launched both from land and from the sea: the first launch of the rocket from a solid surface took place in September 2015 at the Jiuquan cosmodrome, it was first launched from the sea in June 2019.

The launched satellites belonged to the Beidou-3 project. The last satellite of this system will be launched from Sichan in June 2020.
