U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will impose additional sanctions on Iran in response to the failure of the United Nations Security Council to adopt a resolution extending the ban on Iran’s arms trade.

Trump addressed reporters in New Jersey and once again criticized the UN Security Council, which did not adopt the resolution proposed by the United States at its session on Friday.

  • We expected something like that. In response, we will impose additional sanctions. You will see it next week – Trump said.

At the same time, Trump commented on the case of former agent Edward Snowden and said that there is room for a possible pardon of the wanted former agent of the National Security Agency (NSA).

  • I’ll start dealing with that case. There are disagreements about that on both the left and the right side – Trump said.

Due to the publication of secret documents, Snowden has been living in exile in Russia since 2013 with a temporary residence permit, and he asked the French authorities for asylum.
