Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu affirmed that his country stands with Azerbaijan, whether in the field or at the negotiating table.

This came in statements he made, on Tuesday, after a visit with the Turkish deputy head of the “Justice and Development” party, Numan Kurtulmus, to the Azerbaijani embassy in Ankara, in which they met with the ambassador of Azerbaijan, Hazar Ibrahim.

Cavusoglu said, “We stand with Azerbaijan, whether in the field or at the negotiating table. We want to solve this issue from its roots.”

Cavusoglu considered that the only solution to the crisis between the two countries over the occupied “Karabakh” region lies in the “withdrawal of Armenia from the Azerbaijani lands,” stressing that no settlement is possible without that.
