The march for the release of political prisoners is being held in the capital of Belarus.


Law enforcement officials in Minsk used water cannons to disperse protesters.

The vehicles drove in the oncoming lane and watered people, followed by security officers in black uniforms. Later, the water cannon broke down. The publication has published a video showing that the stream of water is directed upward. The Eastern Herald correspondent reported that the car “began to fall off parts” when it was watering people.


The police confirmed that the officers of the department used water cannons to disperse the demonstrators. The representative of the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee Natalya Ganusevich told Interfax-West about this, adding that the action taking place in the city was not sanctioned by the authorities.

On October 4, a march for the release of political prisoners is being held in Minsk; several thousand people took part in the rally. Protest marches take place in Grodno, Gomel, Vitebsk. In Vitsebsk, as reported by the Belarusian Association of Journalists, there are media workers among the detainees.
