Air flights over Crimea – USA allows its airlines to fly in the Simferopol region

From October 27, the airlines of the United States of America will resume flights in “certain areas” of the airspace of the occupied Simferopol. About it stated in a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) decree posted on the US Federal Register website

“Due to the change in conditions in Ukraine and the attendant risks for civil aviation, the United States does not extend the ban on certain flights in certain areas of Simferopol, which expires on October 27, 2020,” the document says.

It is also noted that flights over the Dnieper were extended by 12 months – until October 27 next year – due to the potential danger to civil aviation in connection with the ongoing hostilities in eastern Ukraine.

Recall in In April 2014, the US aviation authorities introduced a ban on flights over Crimea and war zones in the Donbas. Ukraine closed transit aircraft in the environmental protection zone in Donbass in June 2014.

The FAA banned American aircraft from flying over Simferopol and Dnieper (from mid-May 2016 – Dnipro – ed.) In early 2014 to avoid potential danger.

Since March 2014, the number of illegal crossings of the air borders of Ukraine within the occupied peninsula has exceeded 200 thousand. However, until 2019, no airline was financially responsible for this.
