President Volodymyr Zelenskyyy  has called on representatives of religious organizations and churches to put worship services online to reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission.

Zelenskyyy said this at a meeting with representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, as per the press service of the President’s  Office.

“The President called on representatives of churches and religious organizations to arrange religious events in such a way as to minimize crowds and increase social distance, in particular, to transfer services to online mode,” Zelenskyyy was quoted as saying in the OP.

Zelenskyyy also noted that the elderly are the worst affected by the coronavirus – this category of citizens accounts for 80-85% of all victims of the disease.

Note that the President also stated that the situation will become critical for the medical system of Ukraine when there are more than 9500 daily infections with coronavirus.

“If there are more than 9,500 infected every day, we will be forced to introduce strict quarantine,” Zelenskyyy said.

In Ukraine, an updated quarantine zoning is in effect, according to which, in addition to Kharkiv, the “red zone ” includes: Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lysychansk, Poltava, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv. The Cabinet of Ministers extended the adaptive quarantine in Ukraine until December 31
