The 46th edition of the People’s Choice Awards , the most important award for fans and pop culture in the world, where the public is the only judge and their votes decide who are the favorite stars in different categories on movies, television and music.
The event was held in Santa Monica, California , and had Demi Lovato as an official host. Although the delivery was carried out virtually, with the celebrities present via video call, some figures went to the scene to perform musical numbers or to receive special mentions.
Justin Bieber was one of the great protagonists of the event, with a great show, as did the duo Chloe x Halle, Alison Brie, Bebe Rexha, Christina Hendricks, Sofia Carson, Tiffany Haddish, and Tyler, the Creator .
One of the most emotional moments took place when Jennifer Lopez was awarded the People’s Icon Award . But he was not the only important personality in the world of entertainment who received a special tribute: Tyler perry received the People’s Champion of 2020 Award and Tracee Ellis Ross was awarded the Fashion Icon Award .
Among the most important awards, the consecration of Bad boys for life as the best film of the year, and The kissing stand 2 as the best comedy. Mulan , for its part, was established as the best action film and Hamilton as the best drama.
As for television, Grey’s Anatomy it was imposed as the best series. Riverdale received the statuette for best drama and Never have I ever it was the best comedy.
Regarding music, Justin Bieber was the best male artist and Ariana Grande prevailed in the feminine list. The award for the best group went to the popular band BTS .
