The benefits of moving to a beach city

– Published on:

Is there anything better than strolling along the sand on a sunny Saturday morning with a coffee in hand? The sound of the waves crashing, the birds singing and families having fun in the sea. Living in a city that boasts a beach is certainly magical. If you are thinking about relocating soon, have you considered moving to a beach city? If not, here are some of the best advantages of having the water right on your doorstep!

The weather

Of course, the warmer weather is one of the main reasons why individuals want to move to live in a city that is located on a beach. In the UK, it tends to be a few degrees colder in the north, so if you’re looking for a hotter climate, you’re better off heading further down south. Seaside towns such as Brighton, Hastings, and Portsmouth are beautiful. Or, if you would prefer to live just outside of a beach city, you could choose to do that too. Then, on weekends, you could hop on the likes of a Southampton Central to Portsmouth Harbour train and be at the beach in no time!

Better Health

With slightly warmer weather, the chances are that you’ll have more exposure to sunshine in a beach city. The sun helps in the creation of Vitamin D, which has many positive influences on the body. This vitamin regulates the absorption of calcium and phosphorus and also facilitates normal immune system function. Humans must get enough of it to develop strong bones and teeth, so it’s a good excuse to get outside and on the beach!

Water sports

Are you someone who likes to keep active at weekends? If paddleboarding, jet skiing, kayaking, or canoeing are some of your favorite activities to do, you’ll love living by the sea, because it means you can do them all the time.

Fresh seafood

For seafood lovers, nothing compares to the fresh catch of the day. When you live near the sea, you’ll have lots of restaurant choices to choose from if you’re craving lobster, shrimp, crabs, or scallops.

Fresh air

Say no to pollution and yes to fresh air. The fresh, salty air of the coastline will work miracles for your lungs. It will help to clear them of any dirt that has built up over time, especially if you have been living in a busy city with lots of toxins.

There are so many benefits to living in a beach city – what are you waiting for?
