The United Kingdom is in a dangerous period of the coronavirus pandemic, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said today, adding that in some places there is a lack of oxygen.

–  It is a race against time because we can all see the threat facing our national health system, the pressure it has, the demands for intensive care units, the pressure on beds with respirators, even the lack of oxygen in some places – said Johnson speaking of the National Health Service, Reuters reports.

–  This is a very dangerous period – the British Prime Minister pointed out.

Adherence to the rules

Johnson stated that about 40 percent of 80-year-olds in the country have already been vaccinated against coronavirus, as well as 23 percent of the population in old people’s homes.

R waiting is that there is no doubt that this is the goal, but he believes that it is possible to achieve it.

Asked if he would tighten the lockdown, he said people had to abide by the rules.

Tightening measures

If people do not adhere to them, they may need to be tightened, Johnson stated.

“Where we have to tighten them, we will do so,” the British prime minister added.
