The current US President Donald Trump announced his intention to leave Washington on the day of Joe Biden’s inauguration, which is scheduled for January 20. An informed source reported this to Reuters.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, Trump is going to hold farewell events at the American airbase “Andrews”, where the aircraft used by US presidents are based. After that, the politician intends to go to his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

Trump told reporters last week that he does not intend to participate in Biden’s inauguration. If he delivers on his promise, he will become the fourth-ever American president not to attend the inauguration of his replacement.

Recently, the Democratic Party of the United States, using its majority in the House of Representatives of the Congress, achieved the adoption of a decree on the impeachment of Trump. However, the Republicans who control the Senate refused to leave early vacation and thereby thwarted an attempt to remove the president from office several days ahead of schedule, which would have closed Trump’s opportunity to participate in the presidential election campaign again.
