Sudan..Darfur governor calls for normalization with Israel-africa-news-eastern-herald

The governor of Sudan’s Darfur region, Minni Arko Minnawi, believes that establishing normal relations with Israel is a natural thing, and that this does not preclude continuing efforts to resolve the Palestinian issue.

He said that “establishing normal relations with Israel is not surprising and is a natural thing, as there is no hostility between societies, and the establishment of normal relations paves the way for benefiting from advanced technology.”

On the possibility of attracting Israeli investments to the Darfur region, Minnawi said: “And what is the problem as long as Darfur will rise? We want that immediately, just as we want to attract investments from Saudi Arabia, the UAE and others.”

And Minni Arko Minnawi added: “I do not know what Sudan’s problem with Israel is and what is the cause of hostility. In my opinion, establishing relations with Israel does not preclude continuing efforts to resolve the Palestinian issue.”

In December 2020, the United States announced the removal of Sudan from its list of state sponsors of terrorism, 27 years after it was listed on the grounds of hosting and providing asylum to Osama Bin Laden, the founder of the “Al-Qaeda” terrorist organization, during the government of former President Omar al-Bashir.

Later, on the sixth of last April, the Sudanese Council of Ministers announced its approval to cancel the 1958 law to boycott Israel, which is a new step within the framework of the peace agreement signed between the two sides months ago.
