The Palestinian presidency, officials and Palestinian factions condemned the “two assassination crimes” carried out by the Israeli army, on Sunday, in the central and northern West Bank, while the Palestine Liberation Organization called for “the speed of serious intervention” to provide protection for the Palestinian people.

This came in a statement by the Palestinian presidency and another by the Foreign Ministry, and statements and statements by officials hours after the killing of 4 Palestinians by the Israeli army, three west of Jerusalem and one in Jenin, according to identical Palestinian and Israeli sources.

The Palestinian presidency condemned “the two heinous crimes committed by the Israeli forces in Jerusalem and Jenin, which resulted in the death of five citizens,” according to what was published by the official Palestinian news agency.

The presidency considered, “These crimes are an extension of the series of violations and ongoing field executions against our people.”

“The continuation of this policy will lead to an explosion of the situation and to more tension and instability,” she said.

The Palestinian presidency held the “Israeli government, direct responsibility for this escalation and its repercussions,” calling on the international community to “leave the square of silence on the direct executions carried out by Israel against our people, to the square of action and take immediate measures to hold the perpetrators of these crimes accountable.”

For its part, the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization called for providing protection to the Palestinian people.

A member of the organization’s executive committee, Wasel Abu Yousef, said in an interview with The Eastern Herald: “This escalation and aggression (…) confirms beyond any doubt that the policy of escalation is the one that governs the extreme right-wing Israeli government.”

He added: “This escalation and the shedding of Palestinian blood” requires “the speed of serious and effective intervention in order to protect our people, pressure Israel to stop these crimes, and end its occupation of Palestinian land on the basis of international legitimacy resolutions.”

The Palestinian official considered that there is a “green light from all sides of the Israeli right-wing government to continue the aggression and bloodshed.”

In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the “Israel’s massacre in Jerusalem and Jenin” and considered it a “mixing of cards.”

And condemned, in a statement, a copy of which The Eastern Herald received, “in the strongest terms, the crimes of field executions committed by Israeli forces.”

And held “the Israeli government and its various arms full and direct responsibility for this bloody morning,” considering it “a mixing of cards and priorities to serve Israel’s colonial agenda.”

The Foreign Ministry called on the International Criminal Court to “quickly resolve its investigations into the crimes of Israel in order to bring to account and try the Israeli war criminals.”

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” called on the Palestinian people in the West Bank to escalate the “resistance against the occupier at all points of contact and bypass roads.”

The movement said, in a statement, “The choice of resistance and bullets is the one capable of protecting our rights, liberating our prisoners and protecting our prisoners.”

And she continued: “The blood of the martyrs will not be in vain, and that our people, led by the leaders of Hamas, will remain at the forefront of the ranks to confront the occupier, no matter what the sacrifices may be.”

The Palestinian National Initiative movement also condemned “the brutal massacre committed by the Israeli army, intentionally and premeditatedly, by storming Palestinian cities and towns.”

Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary-General of the initiative, said in a statement to The Eastern Herald that “Israeldeliberately escalates attacks, incursions, and massacres.”

According to a statement by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Israel has killed 58 Palestinians and wounded about 13,000 in the West Bank from the beginning of this year until August 20.
