Lazio settled the “derby of the Italian capital” after defeating its neighbor and rival Roma by three goals for two, on Sunday, in the sixth round of the Italian Football League.

The match was exciting from its first minutes, as Lazio took precedence early with a goal that came in the 10th minute through Serbian Sergei Milinkovic-Savic, who slipped between the defenders and took advantage of a falling ball from his colleague Felipe Anderson, who followed it with his head in the net of Rui Patricio.

Only 9 minutes passed until Lazio consolidated its lead with a second goal, scored by Spaniard Pedro Rodriguez against his former team, before Brazilian Roger da Silva managed to reduce the difference by scoring Roma’s first goal in the 41st minute from a corner kick that he ended with his head into the goal.

Jose Mourinho ‘s team entered the second half in an attacking style, leaving behind many spaces that Lazio took advantage of to add the third goal through Felipe Anderson in the 63rd minute, after a quick counter-attack by Ciro Immobile , who dribbled and then passed to the Brazilian to enter the net.

Roma tried to remedy the situation with several dangerous attempts until it got a penalty, which was translated by the French, Jordan Veretout , into a second goal for “the capital’s wolves” by the 69th minute, but he was unable to shake his opponent’s net on a third occasion, amid the retreat of the Lazio elements to the defense and blocking all roads that lead to the goal towards Goalkeeper Pepe Reina .

With this, Lazio regained the tone of the victories that it missed for three consecutive rounds, during which the “Capital Eagles” suffered two losses and a draw, bringing the team’s balance to 11 points in sixth place, while Roma received its second loss this season and its score stopped at 12 points in fourth place.
