The Inspector-General of the Moroccan Army, Belkheir Al-Farouk , discussed, on Tuesday, in the UAE, the strengthening of military cooperation between the two countries.

And Belkheir Al-Farouk, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (Moroccan Army), the highest military position in the country after King Mohammed VI, who is the Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the War.‎

And according to what was reported by the Emirates News Agency, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan , Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, and Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Army, received Belkhair Al Farouk, in separate meetings in Abu Dhabi.

Discussions of the three meetings dealt with “strengthening cooperation in military and defense affairs and ways to develop them,” and “they exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues (which were not clarified) of common interest.”

Al-Farouq praised “the UAE’s support for the Kingdom of Morocco in various fields.”

The Emirates News Agency stated that Al-Rumaithi’s meeting with Al-Farouq was “in the framework of continuous consultation and coordination between the brothers, which supports communication between the two countries and establishes advanced relations in the fields of military cooperation.”


The same source did not clarify the duration of the visit of the inspector general of the Moroccan army, and Rabat did not issue details about it, and its duration.

And last November, the UAE opened a general consulate in the city of El-Ayoun, the largest city in the disputed Sahara region between Morocco and the Algerian-backed “Polisario” Front, to be the first Arab country to open a consulate in the region.
