A strong earthquake hits Afghanistan, it was also felt in India

The quake affected some 500 kilometers in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center said.

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake shook parts of densely populated Afghanistan and Pakistan in the early hours today, Wednesday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake affected an area about 44 kilometers from the city of Khost in southeastern Afghanistan, and the epicenter was at a depth of 51 kilometers, according to the USGS .

For now, there is no information on the damage or casualties.

Recently, Taliban gained the control of Afghanistan . Many countries still do not recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan. During this time a natural calamity like this can affect badly on the economy of the nation .
