The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, pointed out today in a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that Hungary supports giving Ukraine the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union and removing bureaucratic obstacles to its membership.
As Deputy State Secretary Bertalan Havasi told the MTI in the Office of the Hungarian Prime Minister, Orban promised that he would present that position at the EU summit in Brussels at the end of Sunday.

He stated that Hungary has received almost 800,000 Ukrainian refugees and that it is ready to cooperate with Kiev on future energy projects, as well as in the transport of Ukrainian wheat by rail.

On behalf of the Ukrainian people, Zelenskyy thanked the people of Hungary for their help.
