Ukraine is conducting talks with Turkey and the United Nations (UN) in order to provide guarantees for grain exports from Ukrainian ports, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said today.
– Talks are now underway with Turkey and the UN about the safety of grains leaving our ports – Zelenskyy said at a press conference with Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson, EURACTIV reports.
He pointed out that it is very important that someone, apart from Russia, which Kyiv does not trust, guarantees the safety of ships transporting grain to a certain country.
Zelenskyy said that on this issue, Ukraine cooperates “directly” with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and emphasized that this organization “plays a leading role, but not as a moderator”.
Recent press reports have hinted that such talks will soon take place in Turkey as well.
