Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said today that if Moscow continues with referendums on joining Russia in territories occupied by Russian forces in Ukraine, negotiations with Ukraine or its international allies will not be possible.

–  If the occupier continues on the path of fake referendums, they will close the door to any kind of talks with Ukraine and the free world, which the Russian side will definitely need at some point – Zelenski said, according to Reuters .

Russian and Ukrainian officials have held several rounds of talks since the start of Russia’s attack on Ukraine, but no talks have taken place since March. Both sides accuse each other of breaking off contact.
