Trump Harassed – FBI raids Trump’s house for classified documents on nuclear weapons

Intelligence experts said the unusual search underscored deep concerns among government officials about the kinds of information they thought might be at Mar-a-Lago.

Confidential documents related to nuclear weapons were among the items sought by FBI agents on Monday during a search of former US President Donald Trump’s residence in Florida, reports the Washington Post.

Intelligence experts said the unusual search underscored deep concerns among government officials about the kinds of information they thought might be at Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach club where Trump lives, and could fall into the wrong hands.

Otherwise, it is not known whether such documents were found during the search, and Trump’s spokesperson did not respond to the Washington Post’s request for comment. Also, both the FBI and the Department of Justice refused to comment on the search of the former US president’s residence.

Chief state attorney Merik Garland (Merrick) said he could not discuss the investigation. But in an unusual public statement at the Justice Department, he announced that he had personally approved the decision to conduct the court-ordered search. Garland spoke moments after Justice Department lawyers filed a motion to unseal search warrants in the case, noting that Trump publicly disclosed the search shortly after it happened.

Trump demanded that these documents be published, and earlier he characterized this search as an unjustified and unnecessary raid and burglary, the Washington Post reports.
