The ranking of the 100 most influential women in the world in 2021, published by the American Forbes, was headed by the ex-wife of the founder of Amazon and one of the richest women in the world, Mackenzie Scott. Forbes USA ranked her first for her charitable work.

Until this year, the leader of the ranking of the most powerful women in the world has not changed since 2011, when Angela Merkel took first place instead of then-US First Lady Michelle Obama. Since then, Merkel, who has led Germany for more than 15 years, has topped the list for 10 years. This year, she stepped down as chancellor and left the ranking of influential women.

For the fourth year in a row, the only representative of Russia on the list is the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina. She moved from the 57th line to the 60th.

US Vice President Kamala Harris was second in the ranking after Scott, and the head of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, was third. The ranking also includes TV presenter Oprah Winfrey (23rd), singers Rihanna (68th) and Taylor Swift (78th), actress and founder of the production company Hello Sunshine Reese Witherspoon (74th), co-founder of the genetic testing service 23andMe and ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin Anna Wojitsky (the 90s).

Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain lost 24 positions and dropped to 70th place due to a reduction in the number of public appearances and reputational losses amid scandals in the royal family, including accusations of racism by Meghan Markle, writes Forbes .

Rounding out the rating is former Facebook employee Francis Haugen, who spoke in the US Senate, accusing the social network of deliberately manipulating users, spreading disinformation, sowing hatred, and undermining US democratic values.
