Adviser to the Ukrainian President’s office Mikhail Podolyak, in an interview with the Russian media service on Friday, reflected Kiev’s official reaction to the announcement of a new US military aid program. In particular, he confirmed that Ukraine will receive rockets with a kill radius of 150 km, but at the same time stressed the need to receive shells with a kill radius of 200-300 km.
“150 km solve the problems [ликвидаци российских] warehouses of the operational-tactical direction, and Crimea is located at a distance of more than 200 km. The main strategic warehouses are located there. [армии РФ]and there is a key resource to supply all [российских] groups along the front line, including Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” Podolyak said.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine has pledged not to strike deep into the territory of the Russian Federation. At the same time, Ukrainian forces have every right to strike targets on the territory of the annexed Crimean peninsula, Mikhail Podolyak stressed.
“International law is categorical: Donbass and Crimea are the territory of Ukraine alone, and the Russian Federation has no legal presence there. Therefore, illegal authorities and military bases can be destroyed within the framework of international law, this is what we will do”, summed up the adviser to the head of the OPU.
