The U.S. House of Representatives has unanimously condemned China’s surveillance balloon program, calling it a “flagrant violation” of U.S. sovereignty.
The resolution was passed after federal officials held a private briefing for lawmakers who requested information about a balloon that flew over America.
The Senate also held hearings Thursday on the hot air balloon shot down by the US military over the weekend.
“This resolution will hopefully send a clear bipartisan signal to the Chinese Communist Party and our adversaries around the world that such actions will not be tolerated,” said Republican Representative Michael McCall, who chairs the Foreign Affairs Committee of bedroom.
The four-page resolution passed quickly despite initial partisan differences.
