Austria has come under fire for issuing visas to sanctioned Russian lawmakers to attend a meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Vienna.
Moscow plans to send a delegation to a meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which will include 15 Russian lawmakers under European sanctions. Among them are State Duma Deputy Chairman Pyotr Tolstoy and his colleague, Deputy Leonid Slutsky.
In a letter to the Austrian Chancellor, Foreign Minister and other officials, 81 OSCE delegates from 20 countries, including France, Canada, Britain, Poland and Ukraine, urged the Austrian government to prevent the participation of sanctioned Russians in the meeting.
