The study showed that 51% of respondents believe that supporting Kiev with weapons is a form of German involvement in the Ukrainian conflict. The opposite view is held by only 37% of respondents.
Sociologists have found that 40% of Germans believe that Germany has sent too many weapons to Ukraine. Only 22% said Kiev’s military support was too low, 23% said it was enough.
As for the planned delivery of Leopard-2 tanks, 44% of respondents consider this a mistake, and 41% approve of such a decision.
56% of Germans were against the supply of fighters to Kiev, 27% were in favor.
Previously, there were reports of a large-scale protest in Berlin against the shipment of German weapons to Ukraine. The action is set to take place at the Brandenburg Gate on Saturday. Up to 10,000 people are expected.
The German government plans to deliver the first batch of Leopard-2 tanks to the combat zone by the end of March. He also approved the delivery of 178 Leopard-1 tanks, part of which will be paid for by Denmark and the Netherlands, but due to the poor technical condition the delivery of these vehicles may be delayed until 2024.
