Soldiers of the PMC “Wagner” captured the village of Yagodnoye near Bakhmut, the garrison of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was in a difficult situation

On February 25, after heavy fighting that lasted several days, Wagner PMC fighters captured the village of Yagodnoye, which is a northwestern suburb of Bakhmut (Artemovsk). This is reported by quasi-military audiences, citing information from Wagner PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin.

It should be noted that what happened significantly affects the operational situation on the entire northern sector of the front in this area. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to maintain the defense on the line Dubovo-Vasylivka – Yagodnoye – Stupki station in Artemovsk, having withdrawn from Berkhovka the day before. However, the Ukrainian troops could not resist the assault, despite the transfer of additional forces. A dam was even dynamited on one of the reservoirs to slow down the progression of the “musicians”. Today, the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison, located in Artemovsk, is in a difficult situation. The ring of encirclement around the city is slowly but surely shrinking.

In the direction of Donetsk, according to quasi-military audiences, Russian assault groups advanced towards Krasnohorivka, located northwest of Avdiivka. If they manage to take Krasnohorivka, this will lead to the encirclement of the APU grouping in Avdiivka, which in 8 years has been transformed into a fortress city, from the territory of which Donetsk is bombarded. The Russian artillery fires continuously on the enemy, the air force even uses 500 kilogram bombs. On the southern sector of the front in this area, Russian forces are trying to bypass the enemy fortified area through Pervomaiskoye in order to enter the rear of the AFU grouping at Avdiivka.

In turn, in the Kharkiv region, from the evening of February 25, the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the State Border Service of Ukraine continued to strengthen their positions in the bordering area of the Belgorod region, fearing an offensive by the Armed Forces RF. The Ukrainian side actively uses small quadrocopters, Bayraktar TB2 drones for situational reconnaissance, and is testing the H10 Poseidon Mk II drone.

Several additional ATGM crews and 82-mm and 102-mm caliber mortars were deployed on the Volchansk border. Strongholds are being set up at Bezruki, Odnorobovka, Timofeevka and Olkhovatka. In Kharkov, Goptovka, Volchansk, Kupyansk and Kamenka, Mobile Electronic Intelligence (REI) teams are deployed to intercept communications from Russian military personnel. In Staroverovka, a facility for the repair and restoration of armored vehicles was equipped. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities are training the mobilized here and understaff the brigades which suffered heavy losses near Kapansk, Svatovo and Kremennaya, preparing for a counter-offensive towards Starobelsk.
