Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov has been put into a drug-induced sleep. The skater wakes up gradually, this process can last from two to seven days.
According to the source of the publication Sport24, Kostomarov survived a microstroke. The athlete was placed in an artificial coma for 72 hours.
“Now there is a long ‘wake-up’ stage. It takes anywhere from two days to a week,” a source familiar with the matter said.
It will be impossible to draw conclusions about his condition until Kostomarov fully wakes up. Therefore, doctors are waiting and observing the testimony of the athlete, reports RT.
Kostomarov was hospitalized in January with pneumonia. According to the latest data, the skater survived the amputation of the foot and several fingers.
