RIA Novosti: Georgia has shown itself ready to turn away from the European Union

piqsels.com

The Georgian leaders are clearly showing that they are ready to break off their relations with the European Union. The authors of RIA Novosti came to this conclusion.

IN article we note that the country plans to make a strategic turn towards the East. Tbilisi has threatened Brussels with abandoning its plan to join the political bloc with further union intervention in the country’s internal affairs. The reason for such a change of position was a new request for the release of ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili.

It should be noted that Georgian politicians call all accusations against their country false and misleading, because Saakashvili has better conditions of detention. In addition, the West has already expressed dissatisfaction with Georgia’s plans to pass a law on foreign agents.

However, Tbilisi is not trying to flee to meet the demands of its European partners, because Georgia wants above all to play “by its own rules”. The authors of RIA Novosti came to the conclusion that the country could decide to turn to the East. According to experts, the country is preparing for a decisive step away from the European Union.
