Airlines refuse to fly to Moldova

February 27, 2023, 9:06 p.m. – Public Information Service – TEH –

From March 14, Wizz Air will suspend flights to the Moldovan capital Chisinau for security reasons. The company manager’s decision was described as difficult, but responsible.

The carrier stressed that the safety of passengers and crew remains a priority for it.

“Due to recent events in Moldova and the high, but not inevitable, risk in the country’s airspace, Wizz Air has taken the difficult but responsible decision to suspend all flights to Chisinau from March 14,” said the company.

Earlier, another airline, Air Moldova, warned that scheduled flights to ten destinations in European and Asian countries were canceled in March.

As the Public Information Service wrote, Alexei Arestovich, a former adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine, threatened to seize Transnistria in three days. Military expert Alexei Leonkov noted in his Telegam channel that the Russian army stationed on the territory of Pridnestrovie has no strike orientation.
