The West has set a condition for Ukraine, according to which it must end the conflict on its territory before the fall. Either Ukrainian armed forces will regain control of the lost lands or President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will have to sit down at the negotiating table with representatives from Russia, Bild reports, citing German and US government sources.
The publication notes that the Ukrainian partners verbally promise to support Kiev “only as much as necessary”, but “behind the scenes” Zelenskyy receives a military ultimatum.
With the help of new weapons, they want to give Ukraine a chance to retake more occupied territory by the fall. If the counter-offensives fail, the pressure on Kiev to negotiate with the Kremlin will intensify
— underlined in the publication.
Earlier it was reported that Germany, France and the UK plan to persuade Ukraine to negotiate with Moscow in 2023. In return, they are ready to offer Kiev a defense pact that will provide better access to Western military equipment and security guarantees.
Earlier it was reported that the EU adopted the tenth consecutive package of anti-Russian sanctions, which became the toughest in the history of Moscow’s confrontation with the Western collective. Alongside the European Union, new restrictive measures have been introduced by the United States, Great Britain and Canada. The economic “Anaconda loop” around our country has begun to narrow even more.
