The Takamatsu Music Competition was first held in 2006 and somewhat resembles our International Tchaikovsky Competition – it also reveals to the world new names of outstanding representatives of the performing arts of our time. The motto of the Japanese show is “a dream and a goal”, it aims not only to identify talents, but also to self-development and personal growth of young musicians.
“I congratulate our musicians for these amazing results and wish them more success in their work,” said Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, in her telegram channel.
It is interesting to note that our two pianists played the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff in Japan – this year the great composer celebrates his 150th birthday. Philip Lynov performed Rachmaninoff’s Third Concerto in the competition finals and Nail Mavlyudov performed the Second Concerto.
