The main points of remote work abroad were revealed by the founder of the GAP law firm Irina Gukova.
The activities of remote employees are prescribed in the Labor Code, but its effect applies only to the territory of Russia. Abroad, the standards of the Labor Code are not valid, recalled the specialist in an interview with “Gazeta.ru”.
“The most dangerous situation during relocation is deprivation of residency status,” Gukova added.
According to her, when a citizen loses the status of resident, the tax regime changes. The lawyer noted that currently, the employer can limit the location of the employee within the framework of the contract. Under the existing conditions, the employer is responsible for the employee’s travel abroad.
