The head of state was greeted at the airport on the Chinese side by First Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong. From Belarus – First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik and Head of the Diplomatic Mission to China Yuri Senko.
The Belarusian leader and the Chinese president are expected to hold talks in both narrow and broad formats. The subject of the discussion between the leaders of the two countries, the agency notes, will be the analysis of what has been achieved and the maximum implementation in practice of the potential of a new level in bilateral relations.
Alexander Lukashenko and Xi Jinping will focus on developing trade, economic, investment and humanitarian cooperation, interaction in the political sphere and responding to the most acute challenges of the current international situation. It is expected that as a result of the talks, a large number of documents on the development of relations in key areas will be signed, the agency reports.
It is also planned that in Beijing, the President of Belarus will hold a series of meetings with senior officials of the PRC, the leaders of major Chinese companies.
Observers recall that as head of state, Lukashenko has already visited the Celestial Empire twelve times. However, even before becoming president, he paid attention to the development of cooperation with this country, which he spoke about in detail in a recent interview with Chinese media on the eve of his visit.
