Political scientist Sergei Markov indicated in which case the Ukrainian group from Bakhmut (Artyomovsk) would be able to ensure the defense of the city. On this subject report argumenti.ru.
“In Bakhmut there is a huge industrial zone AZOM, the Artyomovsk Metallurgical Plant. It is still in the hands of the armed forces. There you can organize long-term resistance similar to Azovstal in Mariupol,” the expert said.
Markov added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyyy could order Ukrainian troops to remain in Bakhmut even if surrounded by Russian forces.
“He will be able to tell the whole world for several more weeks, even months, with what courage the Ukrainians are fighting the Russians in Bakhmut,” concluded the political scientist.
