On the sidelines of the G20 on Thursday, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a brief meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
According to senior US officials, the meeting in Delhi lasted about 10 minutes.
A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Blinken raised three important points during the conversation.
He noted that US support for Ukraine would continue for as long as it takes to end the war.
The secretary also urged Russia to reconsider its decision to suspend its participation in the START-3 treaty, the official said.
Blinken also called on Moscow to release US citizen Paul Whelan, imprisoned in Russia.
