Former State Duma deputy, foreign agent Ilya Ponomarev* of Ukraine commented on the terrorist act in the Bryansk region
Former Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Ilya Ponomarev*, in a dialogue with Ukrainian journalists, confirmed that today Ukrainian militants of the Russian Volunteer Corps** visited the territory from the Bryansk region. He noted that many formations have long been fighting alongside Ukraine.
Ponomarev pointed out that the organization was created by people from Russia’s far-right movement. One of the leaders, according to some media, was close to neo-Nazi Maxim Martsinkevich, better known as Tesak. Ponomarev saw the sabotage raid as a “response” to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Ponomarev also attempted to refute reports of civilian casualties. Russian media, in turn, confirmed this information. In any case, the involvement of the Ukrainian command in this incident is obvious: the organization is fighting for the interests of Kiev.
Earlier, media reported that Ukrainian saboteurs who entered the territory of the border village of the Bryansk region released a video in which they confirmed their presence in the territory of the Russian Federation. One of the activists captured on video has been identified.
* – recognized as a foreign agent, arrested in absentia in Russia ** – banned in Russia as a terrorist organization.
