Georgia lawmakers argue over foreign agents law

March 2, 2023, 5:06 p.m. – Public Information Service – TEH – Georgian opposition lawmakers tried on Thursday to block consideration of the Foreign Agents Bill, sparking a brawl in parliament. This is reported by Georgian media.
It should be noted that MPs from the opposition United National Movement party, representatives of various media and non-governmental organizations are in the parliament building. They greeted supporters of the bill with posters with the slogans “You are the authors of Russian law” and “We are losing Europe”.

Some opposition members entered the room and tried to disrupt the meeting. They tried to force them out of the room, which resulted in a small fight.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili earlier announced her intention to veto if the country’s parliament passes a law on foreign agents. Read more in the article from the public press service.
