Ryabkov: Russia will react if the United States decides to carry out nuclear tests

March 2, 2023, 1:03 p.m. – Public Information Service – TEH – The situation around the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) is of growing concern due to Washington’s actions. This was announced by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov on Thursday.
“The responsibility for the fact that the treaty has not entered into force for more than a quarter of a century of its existence rests, in fact, with the United States, which has defiantly refused to ratify it and has shown a clear willingness to resume testing,” Ryabkov said during his speech at the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Switzerland.

He stressed that Russia would be forced to react if the United States decided to carry out new tests. At the same time, Moscow’s reaction will be “adequate”, the diplomat said.
