The base of the Little Mermaid statue, located in Copenhagen, was painted in the colors of the Russian flag by unknown persons.
The police still do not know exactly who painted the huge stone on which the monument is erected. The attackers allegedly painted the front of the base.
Police called the incident “an act of vandalism”. It is worth noting that the monument to the “Mermaid” is a popular walking spot for local residents and tourists. RIA News.
It was created based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. The monument was erected and inaugurated in Copenhagen in 1913.
