Six US Air Force officers responsible for infrastructure, fuel and logistics at the nuclear missile base in North Dakota have been removed from their posts due to a loss of confidence in their ability to s discharge their duties.
The US Air Force reported.
We are talking about two commanders and four of their subordinates at Minot Air Base, including 5th Support Group Commander Col. Gregory Mayer and Maj. Jonathan Welsh of the 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron, a military official said.
The names of junior officers are not listed.
The department spokesperson noted that the dismissals were due to failure to meet safety requirements for machinery and equipment, and although the decision to remove officers from command was based on the results of a check , these units had been non-compliant for some time.
