In 2022, in the UK, racial hate crimes against Russians were recorded after the start of the SVO in Ukraine. The Sky News channel notes that the number of anti-Russian crimes has doubled. In some cases, the victims of attacks are children. The post says that not all victims are reporting the attack.

Most often, Russians are victims of crimes in supermarkets and underground passages. The shops they own are threatened with fire and destruction.

Last year in Manchester there were 13 cases against Russians, in 2020 there are only two. The charity Victim Support informed that during the first weeks of the special operation in Ukraine, there was an upsurge in hate crimes against the Russian Federation, including against young children.

Criminal law and criminology professor Mark Wallace believes there is a direct relationship between rising crime and world events. For example, during the pandemic, the number of crimes against representatives of Asia has increased.
