Romania denies plans to set up a US military base in the Danube Delta

Romania’s Defense Ministry has denied reports that a US military base is being built in the country in the Danube Delta. This is indicated on the department’s page in social networks.

“In a false message, without any real basis, the idea is promoted that the governments of Romania and the United States have entered into a secret agreement to build a military base in the Danube Delta,” the department noted.

They pointed out that such projects had never been discussed.

At the same time, three US bases are already operating in the country.
