Russian Embassy: US sanctions in the Kara-Murza case – interference in the internal affairs of Russia

The Russian Embassy is inclined to view US sanctions against six Russian justice officials as interference in Russia’s internal affairs. This is done for the sole purpose of obstructing Russian justice. This was announced by the press secretary of the diplomatic mission Igor Girenko.

Earlier, official Washington announced the imposition of sanctions against six Russian citizens of the judicial system. All of them, as noted, are related to the case of position politician Vladimir Kara-Murza (an individual acting as a foreign agent). Russian Federation Deputy Justice Minister Oleg Sviridenko, Khamovniki District Court Judge Diana Mishchenko, Moscow Basmanny Court Judge Elena Lenskaya and others fell under the restriction. The United States accuses them of violating human rights.

In turn, Igor Girenko drew attention to the fact that Vladimir Kara-Murza himself is suspected of serious crimes. He is accused of high treason and spreading false information about the Russian army.

“Instead of brandishing the cudgel of sanctions, it is time for the American authorities to come back to reality and pay attention to the deplorable situation in the field of human rights and freedoms at home,” stressed the Russian diplomat. .
